Account settings

The Settings screen opens from the bottom of the sidebar. It has four tabs: Account, Plan, Security and Interface.

Account tab. Your email address, whether it is confirmed, and the button that sends the link again if it is not confirmed yet.

Until the address is confirmed, a free account shows zero credits. See Creating an account.

Security tab. You need to enter your current password to choose a new one; your other sessions are then signed out. If you have lost your password, write to contact@clipheat.app.

An account created with Google has no ClipHeat password: you sign in with Google.

Security tab, Create a key. A key lets you call ClipHeat from your own tools; it starts with ch_. API access is part of the Studio plan (see Plans).

Revoking a key disables it immediately. Headers, routes and limits are described in Getting started with the API.

Interface tab. The language of the app: French or English. It does not change the subtitle language, which is set for each generation — see Settings.

ClipHeat can send you a browser notification when a generation ends — succeeded, failed or stopped. Clicking the notification opens the generation.

When you arrive on the dashboard, a panel under the top bar offers Turn on notifications or Later.

  • Turn on notifications: your browser asks for permission. Accept, and you are all set.
  • Later: the panel does not come back for a week.
  • No notification while the ClipHeat tab is in the foreground: the screen already tells you.
  • It is a setting of this browser: it does not follow your account from one device to another.
  • The setting does not appear if your browser does not support notifications — which is the case for Safari on iPhone until the site is added to the home screen.

Settings → Interface → Tell me when a generation is done. Off, no notification is sent and ClipHeat stops asking.

Settings → Account → Emails → Email me when my clips are ready sends you an email when a video you started is ready: the number of clips, the video title and a link to the project. This setting follows your account, on all your devices, and it is on by default.

  • No email for a live stream or a batch generation.
  • Nothing is sent until your address is verified.
  • One email per video.
  • No email on failure: the browser notification does report that.

Plan tab. Your current plan, your balance, your current period, your storage, your connected social accounts and the Credit log. The Manage my subscription button lets you change plan or cancel.

See Plans and Credits.
